Tips For Buying Jewelry As Gifts

With Valentines Day creeping upon us, I thought a gift-giving guide might be of some help! First, let's start with some fun facts about 2/14...

  • 5 out of 10 people will celebrate Valentines Day in the U.S

  • In 2019 the average spent per person was $161.92.

  • The least desired gifts include tools, gym memberships, sporting equipment, kitchen appliances, stuffed animals, and mixtapes

  • $12.21 is the average spent by American's on gifts for their pets

With $5.8+ billion being spent on jewelry for this day it is a rather big day for those who make the jewelry. Personally, I think every day is special and jewelry can be given as gifts for so many reasons. So this is more of a general guide really. Here are a couple of simple tips to help you pick out the perfect piece for your loved one/s...

  1. Create a budget and stick to it

This one is pretty self-explanatory but very important.

2. If you don't know what they like, just ask them.

Another VERY important one. Do not guess. Whatever you do.

3. Check to see if they are allergic to any types of metal.

There were way too many good gifs for this one. But I had to go with a Gilmore Girl reference here. Skin sensitivities are very common, so again just ask.

4. Not everyone likes their birthstone

Just because I was born in April doesn't mean diamonds are my favorite. While they are a classy choice, I also like Amethyst, Opal, Citrine, Sapphire, Garnet, and many more! So again, just ask.

I hope this guide to buying jewelry as gifts is helpful!
